BLM43, WHM57, Einherjar, and Taru NPCs

Hello there.

Let's see what's going on in FFXI land. I'll not focus on the upcoming expansion (though here's hoping my RNG gets help from the "un-nerf"). I'm still doing BLM, leveling WHM, and doing scheduled events. Also, I did Einherjar for the first time ever today; I'll have to see if I can't convince my LS to do that. It's fun, quick and relatively cheap. I just wish it wasn't all but required to have at least 4 BRDs there for sleeping.

Here are a few pics of my week:

I'm still mostly soloing on BLM. I partied from 41 to 43 and will party once more or until I hit 44 to avoid the horrible solo spots at that level. Just a few more levels to go until elemental staves. I'll have to see if I can't HQ and sign an ice staff for myself on Magicocarpentry.

I managed a few merits and did it while getting my highest chain ever. I know lots of people have gotten a lot higher, but this is my post so I'll be content with my record. I think I'll put a few more merits into RNG now. Probably max out rapid shot rate.

I'm a huge sucker for jobs that have cute taru AF. This was the first reason why I leveled THF. My THF is still at 62 and I haven't touched it in 2 years, so I put all the AF in storage after taking this pic. Sad day for THF Magico.

Goals

Well, after going to bed late last night due to meriting BRD, I started to think about my priorities (no, this isn't a "I'm going to quit" post). I want a lot of things. A few are listed below.
In FFXI I want..
-WHM75
-BLM75
-SMN75
-SCH75
-to participate in Limbus, HNMls, Salvage, Assault
-lots of merits

But I also want the following things in real life
-promotions at my job
-pass all of my exams that, if I pass them all first try, will last until year 2012
-get back to exercising regularly (I miss being able to bench press 315 lbs. I'd be surprised if I could do 225 lbs now)
-save up a down payment for a house

I can't have all of these things at the same time though so I have to choose. I'm old now by FFXI standards (30 years old). I need to focus on my career and life goals. However, some relaxation through FFXI is definitely ok. WHM to 75 will have to be through xp scrolls and besieged only. BLM to 75 will be ok since I can solo that. SMN and SCH will have to be very long term goals. I'll be able to participate in Limbus, HNMls, and assault just one day a week. I think about 2 or 3 merits a week isn't too bad.

Well, this post is much too serious. I"ll update with pics from last week when I can get on my main computer.

I want to keep a good habit of updating this blog each Sunday so doing most of the typing while I'm seeking on WHM seems like a good idea. I'll update this with pictures once I can get onto my other computer and edit/upload my screenshots.

WHM to 75
I've decided that I'll take WHM to 75. I'm not sure what got me interested in leveling WHM; maybe it's so I can have a tank job (NIN75), support job (BRD75), damage dealer (RNG75), and a healing job (soon to be 75 WHM). It's sitting at 52 at them moment and I plan on using parties on Sundays and ENM30s to level it. I guess this means I'll have to do AF for another job, huh?

Subjobs
Unfortunately, I don't have all the subjobs I'd like to have for WHM already ready. I just got Black Mage to 37 today, but I still have to level my Summoner (10), Red Mage (11), and I'm going to guess I'll want Scholar to 37 too when that comes out. I don't think Red Mage will be too bad, and maybe I can level Summoner soloing off of mob pets. We'll see. Most likely, I'll solo them to 20, then very slowly level them through exp. scrolls.

HNM Stuff
My playtime has been very limited due to an exam, but I've been trying to be a good little LS member and going to events when I can. My exam is tomorrow, though, so that will free up Saturdays at very least. Since returning from my little hiatus, I was able to snag some spiffy new titles: "Fafnir Slayer", "Behemoth Dethroner", and "Cassienova". I suppose Cassie hardly counts as an HNM anymore, but I've always wanted the title.
